Thank you for your interest in transferring to the Junior League of Charlottesville (JLC). To assist you in the transfer process, answers to some frequently asked questions are below.

How do I begin the transfer process?

To begin the transfer process out of your current League to JLC, please contact your current League’s Secretary. Assuming you are in good standing with your current League, she will facilitate the transfer and work with the Association of Junior Leagues International (AJLI)’s electronic transfer system. The JLC will receive notification once the transfer is complete, and our Secretary will register you in our systems. Note that the transfer process can take a few weeks, so please plan accordingly.

Once the transfer is complete, what steps do I need to take with my new League?

Once you are registered with JLC, our Membership Council will work with you to determine a placement for the League year, share helpful information to get you started, and answer any questions you may have.

 Do the dues paid to my current League transfer to the JLC?

Dues are not transferable between Leagues. Instead, you will receive a pro-rated refund based on when you transfer out from your current League. Once your transfer is complete, our Secretary will work with you to figure out the dues owed to the JLC based on when you transfer into our League.

Is there a transfer fee?

No, the JLC does not charge a transfer fee.

When can I transfer?

A League member in good standing can transfer from her current League to the JLC at any time.
