OUR COMMITMENT TO DIVERSITY, EQUITY, AND INCLUSION

The Junior League of Charlottesville is proud to support AJLI’s Board of Directors in its condemnation of racism, racial injustice, and racial discrimination. We seek to foster an inclusive culture that affirms, empowers, and welcomes women from all backgrounds. We understand that this is an ongoing commitment, and we welcome all partnerships and collaboration that move this work forward. Our League is invested in ongoing education and development as we seek to actively live out diversity, equity, and inclusion.

The Junior League of Charlottesville was founded in 1932, with a mission to enrich the lives of members and community partners through voluntarism that positively impacts families in our community. We welcome the unique contributions that all women can bring in terms of their education, culture, ethnicity, race, sex, gender identity and expression, age, languages spoken, veteran status, religion, disability, sexual orientation, and beliefs.

We know that bringing women together from diverse backgrounds only enhances our ability to be catalysts for change and to collectively address issues that impact our community.
